Victor Yu
Victor is a trial lawyer specializing in trade-secret and commercial actions. He has deep experience across all phases of litigation, from early strategic counseling through dispositive motions and trial. Victor takes a results-driven approach tailored to each client’s needs, and his practice spans a wide range of industries—from Fortune 500 corporations and unicorn startups to individuals navigating complex disputes.
He has represented leading technology, healthcare, and life-sciences clients in high-stakes commercial and intellectual property disputes, including trade secret, licensing, and First Amendment matters. His work has contributed to major defense verdicts and favorable settlements in cases involving hundreds of millions of dollars in potential exposure.
Before joining Katz Ruby & Carle LLP, Victor practiced at Keker, Van Nest & Peters LLP in San Francisco and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York. He clerked for the Honorable Harris L Hartz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and externed for the Honorable Lucy Koh in the Northern District of California.
At Yale Law School, Victor served as the Submissions Editor to the Yale Journal on Regulation. He graduated from UC Berkeley with distinction in general scholarship.
