Kate Stuckman
Kate has been practicing as a registered patent agent since 2015. She has prepared and filed hundreds of patent applications in a variety of fields including: big data storage and analytics; machine learning, computer vision, and AI; medical devices and applications; satellite systems; software platforms and mobile device apps; communication protocols; unmanned vehicles; security and encryption; and embedded systems.
Kate often works with startups, leading the development of their patent strategy and building robust patent portfolios from scratch. She has led the development of patent portfolios for multiple companies that have been instrumental in closing over a dozen funding rounds, collectively raising hundreds of millions of dollars. Kate also excels in guiding long term IP strategy to further mature portfolio development with years of experience managing sustained patent budgets exceeding $1M annually. Many of her patent portfolios have been successfully enforced, licensed, or sold. Her strong technical credentials enable Kate to work with top tier engineers and quickly understand their inventions, reducing the time they need to devote to the patenting process. She is an inventor herself on over three dozen issued and published patents, the earliest awarded at age 10.
Kate graduated magna cum laude with a degree in electrical engineering. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and spends her spare time playing oboe and English horn with community orchestras and teaching barre fitness classes.
